WHY I STARTED FRAMING
I'm addicted to frames. I started collecting old picture frames nearly 40 years ago and haven't stopped yet. During that time, while completing my BBA, I got side-tracked for about 10 years taking art classes. I wanted to learn more about the proper techniques for cutting mats and mounting artwork, and I enrolled in my first framing class in 1984. Eventually, I found I really wanted to open a frame shop, but I needed practical experience in the retail side of the business. I set out to find a job doing what I love. I was able to get a position with a competitor and worked for them until the opportunity was right to realize my dream.
WHY I KEEP FRAMING
I love the feeling of historical preservation I get with the correct framing application. Over the years, I’ve framed everything from the tiniest piece of jewelry to an entire World War One uniform and still find that each framing project is unique and has its own special challenges. That’s why I love the craft so much; for me it’s never boring and offers a great sense of accomplishment.
FRAMING FOR YOU
Framed art is something most of us have in our homes for decorative purposes and for our favorite photos. But did you know it's also a great way to acknowledge your family history and preserve those little treasures you may have tucked away in a dresser or a closet? With the right framing, a scrape of your grandmother’s embroidery, your dad’s knife collection, your children's artwork or an old quilt block could become a treasured family heirloom to pass down for generations. You might be pleasantly surprised how framing will accentuate the personal value of these mementoes. Check out our sample gallery for other framing ideas and sample pricing. Maybe you'll find your own inspiration there!
